MATERIAL BODIES
Book Design
Material Bodies examines the historical representation of the female form. Featuring works by Morehshin Allahyari, Rose B. Simpson, Tschabalala Self, Peng Wei, Joiri Minaya, Wangechi Mutu, and Mrinalini Mukherjee, the project explores the body as both subject and object to navigate sexuality, oppression, and collective resistance.

CONCEPT & IDEAFor centuries, the female body was defined by external perspectives. In this contemporary landscape, female artists emerge as a united force, establishing deep connections between the physical form and socio-political identity. This project explores how these artists reclaim their narratives, transforming the body into a powerful tool for expression and equality.

APPROACHThe exhibition identity is anchored by a provocative use of red, which flows through the logotype and the body copy. A serif typeface was selected to evoke a "soft but tough" expression, capturing the nuance of rebellion through a lens that is sophisticated yet urgent.
